Jazz Band

Jazz Band is an opportunity for 7th and 8th grade band students to learn and perform jazz music. We will play all styles of jazz, including swing, latin, and rock.  Students will learn to improvise solos on their instruments.  All woodwind, brass, and percussion players are invited to audition. Drumset, piano, bass and guitar players are needed in the ensemble.  Jazz Band meets on Friday mornings from 8:00 - 8:55 a.m.

Pep Band

The RMS Pep Band is one of several seasonal ensembles. This group will perform at home basketball games that take place at Central Gwinnett. Students have the opportunity to perform some marching band style tunes as well as other fun pep tunes to cheer on our black knight basketball team. This group is open to any 7th or 8th grade band students. Rehearsals begin near the end of fall semester and will be on Thursday mornings from 8:00 - 8:55 AM.

Seasonal Ensembles

Often during the year, students have an opportunity to perform in a seasonal ensemble. In the past, students have performed in the Toys for Tots Band and the 20th Anniversary band. These ensembles are open to 7th and 8th grade students and rehearse as needed on Thursday mornings from 8:00 - 8:55 AM.
