The Richards Middle School Band is
located in Lawrenceville, GA, and is under the direction of Jennifer Carwile and Eddie Jennings. There are 400 students currently enrolled
in the program. There are six band classes during the school day.
Our extracurricular activities include Jazz Band, Pep Band, Percussion
Ensemble, World Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Ensembles, and Solo and Ensemble
Performance. Both 7th and 8th Grade Bands perform at the GMEA District
13 Large Group Festival and have consistently earned Excellent and
Superior ratings. |

Jennifer Carwile - Director
Mrs. Carwile has a Master's in Music Education from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Ill. Her Bachelor in Music Education is from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. In addition to teaching at Richards Middle School, she helps teach the Central Gwinnett High School Marching Band, and also teaches private lessons. Mrs. Carwile is a Michigan Native, teaching in Holland for six years before coming to Georgia. She is married to Mr. Kevin Carwile, orchestra director and drumline instructor at CGHS. |

Eddie Jennings - Director
Eddie Jennings begins his first year as a director of the Richards Middle School bands. Previously he was the band and choral director for Montgomery County Middle / High School in Mt. Vernon, GA. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (summa cum laude) from The University of Georgia. While a student at UGA, Mr. Jennings performed with numerous ensembles including the Redcoat Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Jazz Band I, UGA Philip Glass Ensemble, and the award-winning Revolution Saxophone Quartet. Mr. Jennings has taught saxophone for over 5 years with students being selected for GMEA District Honor Bands.
